Murchison Performing Arts Center, University of North Texas
The Murchison Performing Arts Center (MPAC) has been a loyal client of Enta Ticketing Solutions since December of 2008. The MPAC, now in its twelfth complete season, is home to the
renowned University of North Texas College of Music. Located in Denton Texas, the facility is host to world-class performances by students, faculty, guest artists and community members. The Murchison Performing Arts Center features two premiere venues: the Margot and Bill Winspear Performance Hall and the Lyric Theater.
The Winspear Performance Hall
The expansive Margot and Bill Winspear Performance Hall has been recognized as one of the finest concert halls in the world. The hall's acoustics, designed by the internationally renowned Christopher Jaffe of Jaffe Holden Scarbrough Acoustics, Inc., are varied with ten acoustical curtains and three vertically adjustable clouds. The fully accessible Winspear Performance Hall, with seating for one thousand twenty five, features fixed seating in the orchestra and center balcony and flexible seating in six boxes. The hall, extraordinary in both acoustical quality and aesthetic design, hosts musical events ranging from Early Music to Jazz. Performances by the University of North Texas Symphony Orchestra and the University of North Texas One O'clock Lab Band have been broadcast nationally on HDNet, the nation's leading high definition network, from the stage of the Winspear Performance Hall.
Lyric Theatre
The Lyric Theatre features flexible seating, making it both intimate and versatile. The room's configurations range widely from traditional proscenium to in-the-round and everything in-between. Two balcony levels provide additional seating and/or staging options. Seating capacity varies, with a maximum of four hundred; dependent upon staging requirements. The Lyric Theatre also features an orchestra pit that can accommodate a sixty-piece ensemble.
